What Are GMOs?
GMO is an abbreviation for the term “Genetically Modified Organism”. The abbreviation GE is short for "Genetically Engineered", which has the same definition of GMO below.
Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) = any organism whose genetic material has been altered using techniques of genetic engineering that involves the insertion or deletion of genes; DNA molecules from different sources (i.e. 1. pesticide resistant bacteria and 2. corn) are combined to create a new set of genes (i.e. pesticide resistant corn).
